Our Funders.

  • BENEFACT TRUST

Benefact Trust’s Transformational Grants Programme provides funding for Christian organisations to make a step change in their capacity, reach, impact and spiritual growth, enabling them to forge connections with many more people and communities who will benefit from their work.

Transformational Grants are usually for major, multi-year projects with wide impact, and only a limited number are awarded each year to the projects that trustees consider best fit the aims and criteria for the programme. Therefore, while we welcome applications from Christian charities and organisations seeking funding for transformational work of this kind, unfortunately we are not able to consider applications for this programme from local churches and Christian charities working solely in a local area.

  • GARFIELD WESTON

From small local groups, such as girl guides and youth clubs to larger national youth development charities, the Foundation is proud to invest in our nation’s future generations.

  • SOUTER CHARITABLE TRUST

Souter Charitable Trust was set up by Sir Brian and his wife Lady Elizabeth in 1992.

Since 2006 The Souter Charitable Trust have awarded more than 20,000 grants totalling over £130 million.

The trust supports projects for the relief of human suffering in the UK and overseas and, as committed Christians, Sir Brian and Lady Elizabeth are particularly interested in projects that also promote spiritual welfare.

  • GOOD NEWS EVANGELICAL MISSION

Goodnews Evangelical Mission (or GEM as it is more commonly known) is a Christian grant making charity which supports other Christian charities both in the UK and abroad.

GEM was originally established in 1997 by Giles Wilkins and Roland Van Wyk for the purpose of providing a local befriending ministry in Eastbourne, East Sussex. Upon Giles’ death in 2007, GEM received a substantial legacy from his estate which the trustees invested. This legacy enabled the trust to substantially expand the scope and sphere of its operations and the trust now supports and funds Christian charities all over the world.

  • LAING FAMILY TRUSTS

The Laing Family Trusts owe their origin to Sir John Laing, a devout Christian and founder of the international construction company. The company was involved in many pioneering projects, including the construction of the Second Severn Crossing. Successive generations of the Laing family have built on Sir John’s example of Christian philanthropy. The four grant-making trusts which are administered under the umbrella of the Laing Family Trusts are: the Beatrice Laing Trust, the Kirby Laing Foundation, the Martin Laing Foundation and the Maurice & Hilda Laing Charitable Trust.
